Finding Mp3 Directory
16 Answers
When I convert MP3's on my desktop, the drop into an MP3 file in my File Directory.
I have just done some coverts, and looked for the 'MP3' file to find them, and it's gone - any idea how I can get pit back please?

When I put *.mp3 is my Search, all it does is send me links to web explanations of what an MP3 is, there is nothing to point me at the MP3's on my PC.
I have looked in my Media Player files, they are not there either - getting annoyed now!!!
Any help gratefully received!
Thanks.

A Windows File Explorer search (from the search box at the bottom left of your screen if you're using Windows 10 or from the search box that appears when you click the Start button in earlier versions of Windows) for *.mp3 should, indeed, find all MP3 files on your computer. (You appear to be using a web search, rather than a Windows File Explorer one).
As Chris says above

I understand that - but it doesn't! I don't know why, it used to, it doesn't any more.

Instead of *.exe, try using type:=.mp3 or kind:music as your search term.

I'm struggling a bit here because I'm using Windows 7 (and I assume that you're using Windows 10), so what I see and what you see might not be the same.
However I've just tried a search to find all MP3 files on my computer and then right-clicked on a random file that was found. That gave me the option to 'Open file location'. Choosing that resulted in me seeing a window with the file path displayed in the address bar at the top.

Hi Chris,
For reasons best known to its own sweet self, my PC has now decided to continue putting my conversions into my MP3 file which it did before.
Maybe my constant swearing at it, combined with threats of a rapid window / back garden interface was listened to after all!!
Thanks again for your help.
