Song With Strange Small Talk From Underwater Male Voice - From A David Holmes Nts Show?
6 Answers
Hi I heard a repeat of a David Holmes NTS show either in January or December and it didn't say which one it was (there's about 60 x 2 hr episodes to choose from unfortunately). There was a strange song where the main sound was almost like a constant vaccuum cleaner sound, and it had a male voice talking over it, almost distorted as if it was under water, and it sounded like it was slowly trying to pick up a girl through banal small talk... asking questions like "do ... you... come... here... often?" any help much appreciated! thanks x

I think Mamyalynne's is the more likely one- but what a strange song- even for 1966 it sounds very twee and old-fashioned but alluring at the same time. Interesting to see that Wikipedia says it "is considered to be the first openly "gay" pop record release by a UK major label"
