Well spotted, Mamya. In fact, we're not yet half way through & we've had much more than flogging - we've had the lot! all kinds of sex, sado-masochism, defecation, lactation, stabbings, stampedes, the list continues. Apart from the protagonist Claire, all the English seem like pantomime villains.
