The rest aren't visited by those thinking they have a simple global solution in order to tell them what to do. It's easier to complain at those already trying than to tackle where there is resistance.
The girl has a bee in her bonnet, and her parents are failing to parent but are instead pandering to her. And all that's achieved is to get the backs up of those looking for a solution or trusting their representatives are, and getting schoolkids to play truant.
But at least so far she's not claimed that the voice of God was instructing her to take charge.

Perhaps 'History' will depict Greta's actions as ambiguously as Joan's.
ZM touches at the challenge we face @21:26 Fri 28th Feb 2020, but resolving it should not be a finger pointing blame game; we were led and accept this 'lead' to a large extent AND are effectively powerless to enact any solution without the willing participation of the 'leaders' and our 'comfortable' selves - the cards are stacked in a complex tower and radically altering that structure will require a 'gargantuan' effort in *every* area of that structure.
The real subject is "just too hot to handle'' and so must be childishly dumbed-down to pretend 'climate change' covers its totality.

"But they are and it is."
Neither is true. Fault doesn't come into it. No one can know everything and every consequence and every generation has to deal with the inevitable management of previous best efforts. Name calling of past and present is inappropriate, and simply being used for the caller to get a sense of superiority.
"The ‘worldly wise elders’ can’t bear that they’re being held to account by a teenage girl with heart, passion and imploring pleas as they gaze at the floor and shuffle their feet."
IMO that is not so. No one is metaphorically shuffling feet. Some nations are implementing what they can when they can without causing ructions in existing society (they're the one's being preached to by those wanting to feel good and important about themselves) other nations are in denial or ignoring (and they are being ignored by the preachy lot). The teenage girl is just making herself feel good with the support of others whilst trying to make others feel bad about a situation that isn't down to them, and they're trying to manage; and in the process she's just alienating vast numbers of decent folk.

I am not writing her views off, her innocence and passion make her very vulnerable to being used as a poster girl and its my hope, as I have said before that she understands this and accepts it. Has anybody ever sat down with her and asked her in practical terms what it is that she wants done? I hear her make big emotional statements, but no detail.
