Bbc Quiz : Week 9

Good news (2): It's dead easy this week. (Well, I think it is, anyway!)

Bad news: You can't enjoy beating me this week, 'cos I scored SEVEN! (Yay!)

Nah! Chemistry was never my strong point. Somehow or other I managed to scrape an O-level in it but I hated having to teach anything to do with Chemistry within 'General Science'. That's partly why I switched to teaching Maths ;-)

Mine either I dropped it, Physics and Biology I stayed with. On reflection though knowing about Chemistry etc... (I aint no Walter White) how dangerous it were.

Biology was the most interesting ;-)

It was an all boys Grammar school that I attended so not that exciting... however The local Tennis club and close by all female college made life bearable ;-)

Mixed Secondary Modern for me, Arky ( great fun ).

I've recently rekindled some friendships (females) of my middle school on facebook mixed sex school, lovely to know how they're doing.

In our all-boys school it was an automatic expulsion offence to be seen walking home holding hands (SHOCK! HORROR!) with a girl from the school next door.

Other automatic expulsion offences included playing soccer, in your own time, for an organised team. ("Soccer is only for common boys. You are young gentleman and rugger is the only game for young gentlemen!").

Equally, taking on a paper round would result in your parents being required to find another school for you. (Once again, only 'common' boys delivered newspapers, not 'young gentlemen').

Bliddy hell, Chris I'd have been expelled for all of those offences, would having a Saturday job at the butchers shop mean't expulsion as well ?.

Blimey!! Chris I thought our school was strict, it was run by a priest (RC school)but to be fair was a lovely man. As for football I never hardly played at school it was always after home work done and Dangermouse then out to play football. As for seeing girls well... you learn how to be stealthy.

We were only barred from holding hands with girls from the school next door to our own. (That was a reciprocal arrangement because their headmistress had threatened her pupils with expulsion if they dared to associate to with any of us).

There was absolutely nothing to prevent us from associating with girls from any other schools ;-)

[Saturday jobs we frowned upon, Tony, but weren't considered to be anywhere near as bad as delivering newspapers. That was because our weekday evenings were meant to be reserved solely for doing three hours of homework each night].

Gawd blimey, Chris ( three hours ), hope you lads passed your A levels with an A* at the first attempt.

My Saturday job was great, used to do the deliveries on the company bike :-). Many of my deliveries were to my school mates houses !
