Obviously being taken very seriously - just received an e-mail (via church) from the Church of Scotland General Assembly giving advice about communion services eg no handshaking, no sharing the communion cup, only partaking of communion wine if it is in individual glasses and of course, handwashing. Think we'll hear a lot more on the subject as time passes.
I remember going to a service where the vicar dipped the wafer into the wine and then gave it to the communicant. This was years ago and a good idea now.
