When you insert the memory stick into a USB port, you'll probably see a dialogue box inviting you to 'Open folder to view files' (or something similar). Accept that option and a window will open displaying the contents of the drive. (If you don't see the dialogue box, you can get to the same point by going to 'Computer' and double-clicking on the icon for the pen drive).
Ensure that the window you see is smaller doesn't fill the whole of your screen. (If necessary, resize it).
Then open a second window, displaying the contents of a folder which contains the files you want to move. e.g. 'Documents' or 'Pictures'. (Resize it if necessary, so that you've got two windows open, side-by-side).
Click-and-drag the files (or folders) you want to move from one window to the other. (In practice you might want to create a new folder first and then open it).
To save files directly to the pen drive (e.g. from Microsoft Word), click 'Save' or 'Save As' (from the 'File' menu) in the usual way. Then navigate to the pen drive by clicking on its icon in the left-hand panel.
