The assurances/actions of the Two Blondes don't seem to have convinced the City - the FTSE today took its greatest tumble so far in the Covid-19 saga.

Investors are not daft. But when perceived risk increases, they overreact in order to be safer. No amount of persuasion changes their mind.

I think the health of the population is the priority at the moment. Restricting travel and the impacts on the economy of closed businesses, transport problems, staff absences, pressure on hospitals, etc is bound to affect the profitability of businesses and the return to shareholders, so is inevitable, but governments, whether led by blonds or baldies or dark haired people, are rightly putting health first and trying to manage the situation to prevent a worldwide pandemic

I bet lots of people are panicking- just as with panic buying- and selling their pension pots. But some are selling now in a falling market with a view to buying back later.

Stocks fell throughout the world after DT announced the travel ban between the Schengen zone and the USA.

So, unless you're trying to blame the 'Two Blondes' (rather than DT) for the fall in the Dow Jones, Dax, Hang Seng and S&P indices, as well as in the FTSE ones, your post doesn't seem to have a lot of validity in its content.
