I've recently reduced by working hours, and with the propect of businesses closing and us being encouraged to stay home more, I need to establish some new interests and pastimes.

I'm practical and creative and feel confident I ciukd have a reasonable go at most crafts, but I do need a purpose. Any ideas or suggestions for useful things I could make or build?

Hi, Ducksie..... went for a pint of Guinness today just in case the pubs closed........glad we did........ :-(
Thanks Maydup, himself likes growing practical stuff but we (I) are in charge this year and we like wild flowers and nature attracting stuff - might try and do bee hotels ourselves.
A dolls house, accurate to a specific period, get a kit for the basic house then you can spend years and a fortune making it really like a perfect scaled down home. Word of advice if you do one. Do the wiring before you decorate.

How lovely, have fun Sherr and enjoy the butterflies.
Hi Gness, they be closed indefinitely now .. good call though - see how I was thinking of you with the twiddle thumb things :)
A good call as long as we look out for those living alone out here in the Wild West who rely on pubs and churches for companionship.
I saw!
Everyone will get looked after gness, even here, the community is great looking after everyone - the strongers in the area I'm in are looking in (literally as we are indoors) to see if we need shopping etc

Good ya saw ;)
Everyone will be well looked out for. Lots being put in place here just in case. Michael Higgins made a beautiful speech today.
Depends on your budget. If no problem, get yourself a decent 3D printer and make miniature models of anything from cars to ships, bungalows to palaces, caravans to tents, people of all shapes and professions, cats, dogs, birds, animals, aeroplanes or motorbikes, etc., endless scope for creative construction I understand (well beyond my budget so I only speak from hearsay I'm afraid, not expertise).

Fascinated by 3D printing Canary, but again I'd need a purpose..... I'll think on.
Have a look at Morsbags too, Maydup.
I've recently taken up Diamond Painting, it's so relaxing and produces some lovely results. Only trouble is that it's so addictive i have to do some every day.

Brew beer, make wine, grow vegetables & flowers, take up playing a musical instrument, learn to sing and dance, study various subjects, learn to speak languages, sort out chores you keep putting off, consider helping some charity, wear purple.
Maydup - i have put quite a few on my walls after framing them.

Also you can get custom ones from your photos, i did one of my grandchildren and gave it to my son and DIL for xmas, im doing another for myself now.
