soap and water's fine around the house but when you're out and about sanitiser is a lot handier.
Anything that you take internally OR apply to your skin, should meet appropriate quality standards for those purposes. I really wouldn't use the bio-ethanol that TCL links to...it's meant to be burnt as a fuel - not applied to your skin.
Isopropyl alcohol (99%) and aloe vera. Make to your desired consistency / strength.
^^^already said yesterday!
seems OK
ethyl alcohol is what we drink so it is licenced
Methyl - meths
and they say isopropyl alcohol

incredibly 100% is not as good as some water present
I was taught 5% but they recommend 40%

and stinky stuff so you know it is doing good

and

Soap and water is ALL you need !1

gingejbeeAs usual EDDIE misses the point!!!!!

o for chrissakes you two - you sound like me and Nigh !
try to play nicely = you know sort of everyone is looking
// Isopropyl alcohol (99%) and aloe vera. Make to your desired consistency / strength.//

erm to stress the point

getting it down to 95% or 60% by adding water improves its efficiency and action iand is NOT for reasons of economy
Peter Pedant, please don't refer to Naomi24 as "Nigh".
Oui madame
compris
(er you do do forrin?)

o god I bet you are a man really

now back to sanitizers .... I am a soap and water man - years at Porton Down I suppose - as Eddie see above
the thing is PP (may I call you PP? Or does it sound too French?), soap and water are wonderful at home but carrying a bottle and a bar of soap from Lush in your pocket all day gets a bit tiring when you're out and about in town.
That, jno, is why a gentleman employs a valet. :-)
//I am a soap and water man - years at Porton Down I suppose - as Eddie see above //

Ah Portland Down. That explains alot. Obviously PP your PP didn't do the job. :-)
valets don't leave the house, I have to put my stuff in care of the chauffeuse, and she thinks Lush stinks out the dik-dik-hide seats in the Roller.
"I really wouldn't use the bio-ethanol that TCL links to...it's meant to be burnt as a fuel - not applied to your skin."

The WHO recipe includes ethanol which is chemically the same as bio-ethanol. The glycerol counteracts the effects of the ethanol on the skin.
Mine seemed to look Ok until I added the essential oil. OK when it`s shaken up though so I suppose it`s better than nothing for when I run out of the proper stuff
Opps wrong thread
