I know this might sound like a daft question but do you know if window cleaners are still working?

Mine isn't.I don't think that they are listed as essential.
mine didn't come round this week and they are very reliable but think they were too nervous of meeting people
Mine lives a few doors up from us, and his van hasn't moved for a couple of weeks.
Danny Sun may say they can work, but I wouldn't want to visit households where you don't know clients current condition. Are window cleaners key workers then?
Tony, it is up to the individual window cleaner whether he wants to work or not. I think what maybe deterring them is that they are usually paid in cash at the time of cleaning which is difficult if you wish to obey the two metre rule.
Are Timsons the key cutters allowed to work?. Boom Boom.

danny, I was wondering that about cash payment, and was wondering if the money could be left somewhere safe outside so I wouldn't have to come into any contact with him. I suppose I'll just have to wait and see if he turns up.
Barsel, in the current climate, don't think I would handle cash either. My window cleaner will accept bank transfers, but he seems to have decided to go into hibernation.
Our's has sent a message saying he won't be coming

Tony, I was thinking of putting the money in one of those little plastic bags and then putting it under the door mat.
Barsel yes you could do that, if he is coming, can you text or phone him?
I have been leaving the money on my back window sill for years - underneath a heavy bottle and did so this week but it is still there.
We always pay our window cleaner online straight into his bank account. Most of neighbours do the same. Think he started it because a lad he had working for him told people the price had gone up and was pocketing the difference. This way we both have a record of payments.

Tony, when he started this round, he pushed a flyer through with his number on, I'll see if I still have it somewhere. Thanks for all your replies x
Can't say I would blame anyone for staying indoors, we have been in voluntary self isolation for a couple of weeks now, due to my partners underlying health conditions, which has now become official with a text message from UK Gov to both of us, saying do not leave the house for 12 weeks.
I've been out on my rounds this week, but I think this might be my last day. I've finished my work for this week and now that Boris has given us some guidance as to what us self-employed workers will be getting, I think I'll be going into hibernation for a while :)
At least they should have clean hands
