I asked a few days ago what would happen to the homeless if we had a lockdown.
Today the police have been going around my city centre, taking their sleeping bags etc off them and throwing them into a council refuse truck (the sleeping bags that is, not the homeless...before some wag makes a remark) and telling them to ''move on.''
Move on to where??
My bloods boiling. What are the homeless supposed to do?
//Throwing their things away is dreadful//
It happens on a regular basis around here Marval. People donate tent, sleeping bags etc for them and then the police/council come and take them off them.
Had some camping in the woods opposite my flat, not in anyones way, and they came and chucked the lot in a truck when they werent there.
If those people have been treated as you say they have, I don't your reluctance to try to do something about it. It's coming across as just an opportunity to moan about the police really.

Not the police per se naomi. Despite what people think, I dont have a grudge against the police. I wouldnt want to do their job for anything. But the 'individuals' in the vid were ass holes of the highest order and would give their colleagues a bad name. The type that think because they wear a uniform they are 'god'.
Given the current climate I think that we should all be looking out for each other.
As for been reluctant, I dont understand?
Will get in touch with my sons mate when I can and encourage him to (as you say) get in touch with the media.
(He's the one with some video proof)
But as I said, Im more curious as to whether any other ABer has witnessed something similar at the mo.
Here you are Nails this should help. You can contact the Evening Sentinel using a variety of ways but these are the methods that they flag up on the site. I would check first though whether these homeless people are genuine or the same ones that the Sentinel was warning about this time last year. The ones who get a sleeping bag or blanket and rock up outside Sainsburys or Iceland begging, and pretend to be homeless. If the events that you speak of occurred first thing this morning.... say about 7.30am then your assumptions are probably right. If it was early afternoon then have your suspicions. The Evening Sentunel contact details are directly below.

Nailit, I've just read something on a BBC Scotland page, discussing how to tackle this problem. 'Hotels, self-catering flats and halls of residence could be used. Care packages, including food, to be delivered.' How concrete these plans are, I don't know.
