The papers at one point started to report sensibly when this all started, now they are looking for scare mongering. Anything to sell a paper will do now, so back to normal.

Most established NHS hospitals already have back up generators and I am positive I saw the new Nightingale hospital getting them brought in on the news clips of the on going preperations along with large oxygen tanks.
I thought that power cuts might be on the cards and checked our petrol generator was working and a supply of jerrycans of petrol were full. At least we can save our freezer food.

I think there were power cuts in Portsmouth the other day. I’m not sure why though. It might just have been a glitch.

If they are going to enforce power cuts then why not cut power during the day when it is light and warmer.

Reading those articles it seems the fears are that power cuts may occur if there are any failures in the system and they cannot fix them quickly enough due to a shortage of engineers.

I don't think these are the type of pre planned power cuts we have had before.

I wish the newspapers would stop this doom and gloom stuff. Now there will be a panic on candles and batteries!!!

I have not heard of significant power outtages in other countries who have serious Covid-19 problems.

I'm getting to the stage where I shall be pleased if the electricity does go off to some extent - at least then I shan't have to read anymore "Armageddon" type reporting.

I've got medicine that needs refrigeration so a power cut for me and many others will be a bit more disastrous than having no internet or TV.

Barmaid all they have said is they are ( like many companies ) cutting back on work that is not a priority, but has norm the papers have decided to turn that into power cuts. If you read the end of the links that have been put forward, every thing is under control as regarding supply.
