no, there is no change in the ingridients so there for the fat content remains the same, unless loads of cheese falls out!!
Actually butter is usually put on the outside of the sandwich to stop it sticking so actually they only slightly more fattening but when your talking a couple of calories who cares?!

I am sorry to contradict,BUT,the Toasted Sandwich has more calories. Why?

Because when you toast bread the starches turn to sugars, which have more calories. If you don't believe me try eating plain untoasted bread, and then  toasted bread, the latter will be sweeter!

Amazing Mystress,I've never heard that before! You learn something new every day!
Sorry mystress but sweetness has nothing to do with calories. The starches in the bread have the same number of calories as the sugars which are formed.

If you analysed the toasted cheese sandwich in a calorimeter (which is how they measure calorie coutnts) it would have more calories per hundred grams as the bread will have lost water. However, the overall calorie content of the sandwich is exactly the same as the untoasted one. The reason for this is nothing has been added - starches have been converted to sugars and water has been evaporated from the bread, but the overall nutritional value of both sandwiches is exactly the same.

sorry but cheese gaina multi strtilles when melted cuasing the the calories to rise by 20% due to calamatic changes to the fat.if you add cucumber to it the selivine in the cucumber reduces the the % to 2. hope that helped
