Flights To Uk ..Getting Home
Stuck in thailand here.
Need to get home but allready lost 1 ticket costing me £580 due to concerns catching virus on plane plus self isolation.
I mailed my insurance about this 5 times but they havent replied ( nationwide flex plus ) bloody useless.
I see on skyscanner flights going mid april but dont want book yet incase they go bust or stop flying then ill be out more money.
What should i do in this situation.
Visa is up too and if im stopped i risk going to immigration centre in bangkok

There has been advice about non essential travel to Thailand and that people already there should return home for at least 6 weeks. It is highly unlikely that you can claim on your travel insurance. Book the next available flight regardless of cost so that you can at least show the authorities that you are trying to get home.
Go to immigration now and get an extension to your visa. Possible 500 baht fine per day for each day you overstay. In practice it doesn't come to this much, but you will be charged it at the airport before you are allowed to leave, so why don't you get an extension now and save yourself both money and headaches!

I think they- like travel companies, banks, HMRC, DWP/Universal Credit, supermarket home delivery services- will be maybe 500% busier than in normal times and will also be affected by staff sickness and self isolation, so I think that we have to be understanding ourselves.

Martin, certain categories of people were told to self-isolate in Thailand for 14 days well before the 15th March. In early March one of my friend's wife returned from Korea with all the necessary paperwork but still had to self-isolate with her husband for 14 days. The Health authorities said they would do a random check during this period and were warned to be there when they arrived. I don't know what pumpjack's reason was, but he may also have been instructed to self-isolate by the health authorities.
