Normally I wouldn’t use a jar of jalfrezi sauce (or whatever) but times aren’t normal.

Any experiences of them? I’m looking at Sharwoods, for example.

I`ve used Pataks but not for a few years. I find they all taste the same, regardless of which curry they are supposed to be.
Pataks are pretty authentic.
I like Pataks too.
Loyd Grossman Tikka Masala or Rogan Josh Sauces are quite nice when you don't feel like assembling your own.
Aldi Specially Selected with the separate spice mix on the lid are very good too especially the Rogan Josh and the Balti. Nice price as well.

Fair enough, I’ll have a go. Got a bad back, so avoiding too much standing.
If I am going to make an ersatz Indian curry quickly I always favour Pataks to Sharwoods. As danny says they taste far more authentic. Sharwoods pappads are dire and like cardboard.
Sainsbury's are worth a try too. My favourite is tikka masala, Lloyd Grossman

My missus (slightly off the point, but relevant) says it’s a woman-man thing, and that few women would dream of making a curry from scratch if there was a jar in the cupboard!

I think she is probably right.
iv always found to to taste a bit vinegary.. but i like the goldfish brand
