I’ve just realised that my house is starting to resemble a (cleanish) student house. No one has any set routine anymore (me and himself work really weird, irregular hours), the kids are doing more around the house (boy #1 was hoovering the stairs when I came in from work yesterday). Our food combinations are a bit odd (based on what I bought in my last online shop and what I can get around the shop - gammon, broccoli (fresh) cheese (homemade) and frozen roast potatoes (boy #2 doesn’t like proper potatoes but will eat them in any other form) and we are now awaiting a food delivery from about the only place in Hereford that delivers out here for less than the cost of a kidney (triple pounder burger for boy #1, cheesey chips for his lunch tomorrow (which he’ll zap) and cheesey garlic pizza for me and the kids (just because). On the plus side, everyone’s well and still being pleasant to each other and the food order is 25% off because boy #1 gets NHS discount :)

what on earth possessed you to jinx it?

Sounds pretty darned good to me.
Everybody is well and being pleasant to each other .....when did that last happen ? With 5 children somebody is always ill when they are little.
I'd try to enjoy it and recall the (better) memories of student times.

Ladyalex, they’re not little anymore, they’re 19, 16, 14 and the things are 12 :)
That's why I asked when this last happened.

(Knew they must be all big now...though hadn't realised that the Things would be 12. Time really does go faster when you get older.)
Question Author
They are generally pleasant and nice to each other (with the exception of boy #2 and thing 2 - far too similar to each other).
That's good to hear, Sherrardk. And well done you for bringing them up that way. No mean feat with 5.

Bet there was always somebody ill when they were wee, though.....
Sounds like good old organised chaos, nothing wrong with that.
I found a tub of something in the freezer earlier, wasn't sure if it was chicken casserole, curry or sausage stew, decided to have it with chips anyway - turned out to be pork in mustard sauce, hey ho was good.
Question Author
When they were little it did seem like someone had something (chicken pox was a mare - the four youngest and then me, 35 days on the trot).

Mamy, I don’t freeze leftovers because we never have any but I suspect my method would be like yours.
I really have to have a good sort out of my freezer.....there's stuff I there older than the son-and-heir. Unlabelled of course. Lots of wee plastic pots of unidentifiable goo. Tomorrow's job (again).
