Corona Face Masks
Is wearing a face mask really any protection against Corona?
Unless they are made from a non-permeable material (such as rubber) I fail to see how they can be a protection.

Clearly lots of people don't accept that or think it's worth giving the benefit of the doubt. In Wuhan for example everyone seems to be wearing them even though the lockdown has been lifted and all across the word (apart from UK) police, army, airport staff seem to be wearing them. Here Sainsbury's staff organising the queues were wearing them when I went at the weekend and 25% of shoppers wore them.

Our only one doctor surgery ran out of their face masks.....more will arrive sometime.
In the meantime he asked a friend and I to make some. We use close woven cotton with a pocket that something extra can be popped into...I don't know that bit....I just pass them on.
They are used by our nurse and home care helper. We are making enough that between home visits they can change the masks to a new one. All are boil washed after one use. We have many elderly folk scattered about in the mountains here who require visits. It's not ideal but the nurse and carer feel better going from house to house...farm to farm with a clean mask for each visit.
