Who would you pick from the last 50 years as the PM you reckon would have done best in leading/uniting the country in a fight against a pandemic?
I’d probably take Harold Wilson - certainly the sharpest knife in the drawer (before his Alzheimers). Avuncular and confidence inspiring in public, and utterly ruthless behind the scenes.
//So, Labour closed more in number, Maggie closed more as a percentage of the existing pits.//
Off thread but I can't help it. Imagine there were 100 mines (to keep the numbers simple). Labour closed 90 (so 90% of those open). The Wicked Tories closed the remaining ten (so 100% of those open). Other combinations of numbers are available to demonstrate that there are lies, damned lies and statistics.
erm so closing mines illustrates exactly which point when it comes to covid?
oh well, this is AB and we are locked in - - tells me one thing tho - why judges get overruled so often by the appeal courts
Macmillan - oh dear returning to the point - sorry everyone - was efficient. He was the one who sent back the cossacks back to stalin in aug 1944. Altho there was a lot at the time of 'oops what has he just done, he wasnt meant to that'
Macnmillan was a doer and achiever - and if they wanted someone to blaart they should have sent someone else.
