when we get over this awful time that the country should sit down as one to put in place a better caring society .Where honesty will be the hallmark .We need to get our compassion back .Again to have respect for one another and those who we select to do what is right for all our people .Maybe this can learn us that it’s not about what we can get but about what we can give . Won’t happen I hear you say but then shame on us for not trying . Wee Easter thought from weecalf .
Perhaps, weecalf, but only if we forget there are 4 countries in the United Kingdom. If all of us in England,Scotland,Wales and Northern Ireland would shake off their nationalistic delusions we can get back to being a great country again.Hitler tried to divide us,the IRA scum tried to divide us.We will not be divided.
It is about politics though,Mozza. The guy who murdered Jo Cox was a British/English nationalist that wanted to divide us,the guy who murdered Lyra McKee was an Irish/British nationalist. If we give into these nationalists or their nationalism then this country is lost.
Even during this crisis the social-distancing rebels and the panic-buyers are not managing to behave in a caring manner, so what chance have we got when things get nearer to normality with these people around?
Fine sentiments weecalf. The reality is human beings are by their very nature stupid self destructive creatures. The herd mentality dominates most good intentions.
One day in a far distant future, perhaps.
People do care for each other all the time. It is just that now they are being recognised. They give to food banks, run people to and from hospital visits, look in on elderly neighbours. Our NHS has always looked after us through the years. The difference is that they won’t be in the media spotlight anymore, but they will still be here doing their thing.
