A Good Time To Buy A Used Car ?

Son's car has the death rattles and may soon be in the knacker's yard. Do you think this is a good time to buy a used car ? I'm thinking of a reputable main dealer or somewhere like Car Giant etc. ( If open ! )
Any opinions/recommendations ?

Stay safe

Cheers.

If open....yes, that's the thing. Car Giant says it's closed and all the car dealers that I'm aware of are closed too.
If your son's car can keep going a bit longer I would say no. We are not really supposed to be driving unless necessary,( so he will be doing a lot less mileage), therefore it should last a bit longer. Also when we get back to "normal" and places are open, I suspect their will be a lot of good deals about to help with lost trade.
My son's 4x4 died and left him tranportless so he phoned round and found a Suzuki estate, the bloke was so desperate to sell he dropped the price from £375 to £330 having already dropped it from £525...
So yes, imo, if it can be done safely then now is a good time to buy.

Good answers. Thanks to you all.

yes, a good time, sales will be down so you should get a good deal. Don't touch car giant or equivalent with a barge pole.

OK, thanks, TTT. I did wonder.
