What?
How much further would the NHS get if all MPs salaries were added to their budget ? Would it even be noticed ?
What what
THE NHS costs over 140 billion pa
But cutting MPs wouldn't free up much to give the NHS. If we have 650 MPs and they cost say quarter of a million each per annum , that's under £0.2 billion pa

I suppose scrapping the refurbishment of Houses of Parliament would save around 4 billion
increase national insurance contributions by 1p

What I was saying if we can’t afford to pay the NHS then we should be paying others on a par so then they might realise just how little the are paid .
Some might think that once the crisis has passed, teary-eyed nurses will once again be bolshy agitators who need putting in their place.

Who do they think they are? Coming around here moaning about this and that when they get paid to work.
A spell in the army would sort them out.

The day won't be long in coming, politicians live in the moment.
I'm pretty sure that the workers of the NHS (and care workers, let's not leave them out) would rather have better working conditions, access to PPEs and maybe a smaller pay rise than your rather silly idea.
