Which we are lucky to have, but how do other countries manage, during this virus, I assume you need to be insured to be treated, is this the case in all other countries?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.European countries generally have their own health service which according to ranking/comparisons, although they don't call it an NHS, is frequently more accessible (at upper levels in particular - think waiting lists) and commonly performs better than the UK's NHS. In at least some countries even foreign visitors were assured free Covid 19 testing on request from a very early stage. Treatment in most these countries is either in itself free (but commonly under a subscription type system, a tax-type collection like in the UK but clearly allocated into a designated fund as collected) or incurs normal charges as apply to any day to day treatment for other ailments. These charges are, I understand, always quite affordable (even just nominal).
