no I am not bilingual but I did talk my brudda out of a spying charge in arabic in Cairo which I thought was pretty good

er - bilingual kids - there is quite a lot written about this

Babbling - stick an english kid in front of a Mandarin and they will coo " o look he is beginning to speak Mandarin ". I asked my niece who she thought wouuld be elected president and she said " durdle durdle durdle" in a real Darzet accent - really strong /r/s which I thought was near enough to: you will get a Turkey for a president ( Reagan ) - - 1979 - she was canadian
Kids do acquire both languages at different rates and show a preference for the most advanced one. Mixing ( switching)
"eed eez - ow u say - tray diffiseal!" is a sign of weakness of language acquisition but is common even in adults
People often think switching show bilingualism but is a weakness
