Is there a special name for those chess sets that have the individual figures to look like the actual men?

I know you can get the dragon and wizard ones, fairy ones etc, but I saw a set that had the pieces looking like old men it could have been wooden.

I bring my youngest son a chess set back from every holiday, i have one depicting the mayan indians of Mexico that is very good. He also has a set from lord of The Rings and a Marvel one with superheroes.
