Queueing to get in the supermarket yesterday, everybody nice and orderly, 2 metres apart. Then we get to a gazebo, where there's a table with a roll of tissues; spray cleaner and hand sanitiser. Can't be too careful at the moment can we? However, almost everyone was using the spray and sanitiser, then going back to 2 metre distancing! Only a few people had gloves on. I thought it was really funny. Still do. Stay safe my armpit! :o)

So is 2 metres! A sneeze can carry 6 metres according to some sources.

Thanks for all the humourous replies. There's SD in the queue to get in the supermarket, but in the queue, lots of people handling the bottles. Why does that seem ok to some folk? Once inside the supermarket, SD is ignored. It's all futile. Never was a need for it. But everyone on here seem to be whimpering hypochondriacs. Stay in. Stay safe. :o)

Your OP would seem to suggest that you have some concerns about social distancing. Is that not the case?

Yes, but if you pick up the 'dirty' gel bottle, squirt gel on your hands, put the bottle down and then clean your hands using the gel already on your hands then your hands should be clean. So long as your are sensible and do things in the right order I don't see a problem

That's true. So avoid touching your face in the store and maybe reclean your hands with gel if you're there a while. I certainly wash my hands again before getting in the car to touch the wheel and when I get home after unpacking. Some people wash everything or leave it to stand for a few days before unpacking. There's only so much you can do of course
