My husband is getting very frail. He needs a trip to the bathroom 3-4 times a night.

I am hoping to get a device installed to turn a light on using his voice rather than a switch.
I have no idea what this might be or where to get the right advice..
Can any of you point me in the right direction please.

He isn't at l technically minded or able to research what is needed.

Many thanks.

would a motion detector light be considered?
There's a selection on here, including light-bulbs which may be of interest?

Hi This,

Click this link to Amazon, this is a battery operated PIR light- it comes on when it detects movement- east to install so might do what you want

Amazon.co.uk User Recommendation
The voice/sound activated ones seem mostly for children and are also mostly unavailable on Amazon UK.
It is possible to have lights that respond to voice commands but I think that such a set-up would be too complicated (and expensive) for your needs. You'd need something like an Amazon Echo Dot in order to communicate with 'Alexa', together with Philips Hue bulbs (at over forty quid a piece) and the associated hardware to go with them.

As others have already suggested, using motion-detecting light bulbs might be a simpler solution. e.g.
