Talking Night Light?
4 Answers
My husband is getting very frail. He needs a trip to the bathroom 3-4 times a night.
I am hoping to get a device installed to turn a light on using his voice rather than a switch.
I have no idea what this might be or where to get the right advice..
Can any of you point me in the right direction please.
He isn't at l technically minded or able to research what is needed.
Many thanks.

It is possible to have lights that respond to voice commands but I think that such a set-up would be too complicated (and expensive) for your needs. You'd need something like an Amazon Echo Dot in order to communicate with 'Alexa', together with Philips Hue bulbs (at over forty quid a piece) and the associated hardware to go with them.
As others have already suggested, using motion-detecting light bulbs might be a simpler solution. e.g.
