Low Skilled Workers

Last week they were valued Key Workers. This week, bus drivers, taxi drivers, security staff, chefs, construction trades and are low skilled workers.

I hate that phrase, it must be so demoralising to be labelled low skilled, especially at the moment.

How dare they! Most of these 'Low Skilled Workers' have done at least a 4 year apprenticeships. More highly skilled than a journalist on a second rate degree, penning half truths and down right lies.

I heard it on Sky news. I just happened to use an ITV link here. Its come after analysing the jobs held by those who have died of the Coronavirus. More in these professionas than some others. Of course they have. Some have kept working throughout the lockdown and had more contact with other people. Nothing at all to do with their level of skill.

Its really is time to abolish such labels.

I think they know - there are alot around me -and they know because they are paid peanuts. What amazes me is that they dont turn to their kids and say - dont be like me for chrissakes turn up for skool and learn !

They weren't referring to pregnant or drug taking teenagers PP, or their parents. These are very skilled, qualified, hard working people in mainly vocational professions. There is nothing low skilled about a chef for example. And no reason to assume they will produce wayward children!
