Months ago for some mad reason I signed up to a website called Readly. You pay a subscription every month and can read endless magazines etc etc. Well I forgot all about it till I checked my bank statement yesterday and realised I was still paying for it. So I’ve gone to log onto their website to cancel it and I cannot log in. Keeps saying password is wrong. So Ive gone to reset it and I just don’t receive the reset email. I’ve tried endless times. I’ve gone into their CONTACT US and it just repeats the same thing - reset password!! But it won’t let me.
So I’ve tried to find a phone number for them but there doesn’t seem to be one!
No matter how many times I email them I just get same automated reply - reset p/w.
It won’t let me!
What on earth do I do??
It’s not listed under standing orders either. And I don’t have a credit card. I’ve emailed Readly and just had an automated reply. Am going to try and ring my bank now....
Thank god for that!!
Santander have managed to put a block on the payment so the company will be unable to take future payments.
Think I need a lie down after 3 hrs of this! Lol
Danny I've only come across that with Sky Tv. It comes off my account as 'Card Payment' and is not listed with the DD's which are easy to cancel on line with a click of the mouse. I'm sure its to make it more difficult to cancel a subscription. I think they can do it by making your initial payment a 'reoccurring transaction' .
It's a Continuing Payment Authority, the same as a Continuing Credit Card Payment and favours the company taking the payments more than the customer. I don't like them at all. Glad you've got it sorted, Smow

smow glad you got it sorted now. Sandtander have always been good with my account, often stopping unknown payments before I have noticed them. Guess most banks do the same.
