I have finished a cross stitch Noah's Ark and it has taken quite a long time. It is now a bit grubby. What is the best way to clean it up? I have soaked pieces in tepid water with washing up liquid in the past but it doesn't get totally clean.

I do a lot of cross stitch, i always hand wash my piece with a dash of normal washing powder in the sink, rinse, and just hang it out to dry making sure you dont wring it or scrunch it as the creases are hard to get out, hope that helps.

Thanks..I have avoided washing powder in the past but will give it a go....
I would use a small amount of mild washing liquid if you have one. Something designed for gentle hand washing. Tepid to warm water and just bathe it as you would a baby!
