Just turn on your telly right now, to watch all this evening's Eurovision stuff. (I'm loving it!). It's guaranteed to totally numb your brain to anything else ;-)
Or, of course, you could just get your latest fix from Mr Shand, courtesy of Youtube ;-)
Hidden away among all the dross (which can still be worth watching, just for the 'silliness' factor), there are actually some excellent songs in the Eurovision Song Contest from time to time. Here's just one:
I've voted for Mahmood, with Soldi, Mamyalynne. (Aunty Beeb certainly presented us with an eclectic selection tonight. It was good to see some of the really early stuff there).
A brief excerpt from 'Nel blu, dipinto di blu' (a.k.a. 'Volare') was included in the 'Shine a Light' programme at 8pm. A slightly longer version was also included in the 'Come Together' programme which preceded it but the song wasn't included in the list of those which could be voted for by viewers.
That there Ryan chap came on Radio 2 at 2pm and I was just about to turn it off when he played Tilted by Christina and the Queens. Haven't heard it in a while so I turned the old volume up a tad (or a few tads) and let it play out before turning the radio off before the chap had chance to speak again. Can't get the song out of my napper, now.
