I have a ford focus ghia and the remote control locking is not working properly. I have noticed it stopped working after I locked the car from the inside while I was driving.
When I try to lock it with the key remote, it won't lock, and if I try to open it with the key remote, the doors open, but the driver door stays locked! (The key remote hasn't run out of battery).
I was wondering if when I locked the doors from the inside, I changed something, and there's a way to reset it to normal?
Either that, or the central locking's just broken! (Which I hope isn't the case!)
Could be that the drivers door lock has jammed as u say it opens the rest of the doors by remote and u will need to take it to a garage for them to remove door panel and see if a link rod has come off. Hope this helps
It may be...(That's what I didn't want to hear!) I took it to a garage today, just to see if anyone could look at it, and see straight away that I somehow managed to deactivate some part of it, but they wouldn't look at it, and they said I'd have to book it in to be looked at (=70 pounds). I just don't want to take it in and the verdict be that all that had happened was something was changed/deactivated!
In one of our cars it was possible to lock all doors from the passengers side too. Could you leave the drivers door open and try to re synch. the thing by manually locking the passenger one from the inside ? closing the drivers door and then opening them via the keyfob.
I have had a bloke reset a key for me. the one with the main chip was out of sych. with the other : the service manager just did some jiggerery pokery in the car park with both keys in the car a minute at most - no charge!
