Trump is taking tablets that his doctors advise could cause heart attack and even death if he becomes infected with the virus.
All I can say to Donald is, "Keep taking the tablets man".

Spicey - I'm not knocking it. Just saying that no way would I take a drug with no proven benefits and lots of side-effects for no reason.
i wasn't aware that potus had covid-19
//Normally sane ABers quite lose their heads where Donald is concerned.//

They certainly do. I think hatred of Mr Trump is so rife that many would prefer that these drugs weren’t trialled at all and their benefits, if any, never discovered. Heaven forbid he is justified. That would never do.
He is a very noble person, risking death in the interests of his nation. Perhaps he should award himself the Purple Heart.
Yes, Naomi. Like Bill Maher hoped the economy would crash. Others are hoping for a 'second wave', a spike in Covid infections in States that have eased lockdown.
They really are quite disgusting.
Surely you can never be justified in taking something which a)isn’t proven to work and b) might be dangerous?
We dodged a bullet when Hilary lost, let's hope Biden also loses.
He should be in a care home.
oh dear, more bile from TNL
Wishing anyone dead is unacceptable IMHO.

But Trump supporters needn't worry, he isn't taking the tablets, he's just saying he is (something different entirely), it diverted attention during what could have otherwise become a difficult press conference or whatever it was. All politicians use such deflection techniques.
Can I just ask if any of the people who think Trump is doing the right thing are also taking the tablets.
There's a word of difference between wishing someone dead and shrugging if it happens.
^Indeed.
TNL, TTT?

It's not 'dangerous', Zacs. People have been taking it for 60yrs.
No more so than any medicine taken against medical advice or overdosed on.
Big Pharma have a negative publicity campaign against it. It costs less than 10p a tablet and is out of patent.
I said ‘might’ be dangerous, spicey.
//i wasn't aware that potus had covid-19//
no one's explained to me why he's taking a drug that's supposed to aid in the recovery of covid-19 if he doesn't have it?
I don't know why but I'm especially surprised at Douglas buying into the anti-Trump rhetoric. He's always struck me as a clued up sort.
//Can I just ask if any of the people who think Trump is doing the right thing are also taking the tablets.//

No one here, as far as I’m aware, has said that Trump is doing the right thing. Simply that the idea that because Trump supports trials we should dismiss the possibility that those trials might prove the drugs beneficial to recovery. If Trump says it, it has to be wrong. Personally, I can’t see how something that could aid recovery can be assumed to be a preventative - which is why I presume he’s taking them.
‘because Trump supports trials we should dismiss the possibility that those trials might prove the drugs beneficial to recovery‘

I haven’t seen anyone say that. Or anything close.
I did ael, expect you missed it. Many Doctors and Scientists believe it boosts the immune system.
Somethings all you older ABers should be interested in.
