Fantasies

Why is it that when i dream up a sexual fantasie it seems great, then...
i either dont have the guts to enact it or if i do then it is not as good as in my visions.
Also on a lighter note why is it when i percieve something bad will happen i imagine all the consquences and usually it is not that bad and i breath a sigh of relief. Why does the human mind have such a capacity for thinking the absolute worst or is it just me?

That's just a character trait; some people are like that, others, like my wife, just don't bother worrying and never think about consequences. She says "if it's going to happen, it's going to happen - I can't stop it or alter it, so its not worth worrying about it".
Though having said that, I read somewhere only a few weeks ago that what you describe is a very common human (and perhaps primate) trait. Apparently it is beneficial in that you are rehearsing all the 'game plays' in your mind, so when it actually happens, you just repeat the appropriate actions. Having pondered and mentally rehearsed it, actually doing it becomes straight-forward.
