Question for cetti

You recently said that reducing the size of photos with Irfanview was a breeze. Would you mind taking me through it, becuse I've tried its 'resize/resample' menu, and while it changes the size of the photo on the sreen, I can't get it to save it in the reduced format.

(which is exactly as wildwood said - but am proving I've used an answerbankers advice!!)
Apologies if you already know this sylvday but another thing I had to learn the hard way was - try to keep your Output Resolution 150 to 600 dpi maximum as this will also send your file size sky high. I tend to stick to 600 dpi for a good clear colour image and select Resize/Resample as near 800x600 as possible.
