Grandson suggested I watch it as he liked it and thought I would. I watched it last night. How the hell did my grandson relate to this movie! One of my fave living actors Timothy Olyphant (Dep Marshall Raylan Givens) actually played one of my all time fave dead actors James Stacy playing in his role of Johnny Madrid (Lancer) and one of my other favourite dead actors Wayne Maunder ( preferred him in Custer) was depicted by one of my favourite dead actors Luke Perry, who did a better job than Olyphant, James Stacy was not that tall and Olyphant walked too much like Raylan Givens. Costumes were bang on though and loved that Andrew Duggan was referenced in a later scene. But! Wow, one of my other fave living actors ( he’s just turned 91) and often on my Facebook with the recently passed James Drury ( The Virginian) , Clu Gulager ( Sheriff Ryker)was in there too! Selling ‘ Sharon Tate’ her book! All the referencing in the dialogue to all the 1960s shows was great, but how did my grandson relate to it? I need a long conversation with that boy! How are we all? ( non rule breaking question for compliance purposes)
I'm undecided whether I want to see it or not. I adore both Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction, but haven't really loved a Tarantino flick since. Not a fan of Leo DiCaprio either.
I also thought it was dire, a total mish-mash. The only storyline that held my interest was Brad Pitt's character. I think most Tarantino fans will be disappointed.
