What about those who have a job to go to, this would mean a month away from their jobs instead of the usual two weeks.
And it includes ALL UK entrants , not just visitors

The airline I worked for went bust and I was one of over £300,000 who lost my job. The news then was all about poor holidaymakers, with only a brief token mention that many jobs were lost. My reason for not holidaying would be to protect lives, especially my own. Airlines will eventually bounce back. Lives stay lost.
the uk tourist industry is on it's knees, they need our custom

I have a holiday in Montenegro booked at the end of July. The chances of me being able to go are vanishingly thin.
I think the tourism industry will permanently change. Rural retreats will be in, city breaks will be out. I think some of the cheap, fly by your seat of your pants airlines such as Ryanair, Norwegian will go.

That comes as no surprise and it's nothing to do with Coronavirus. The UK tourist industry struggles because it provides a poor product. In the regular tourist spots hotels are either ridiculously priced or uninhabitable; restaurants are either out of reach of the ordinary pocket or provide inedible food; pubs are overpriced and often have surly staff; parking (where available) costs more than a three course lunch; most locals would prefer you didn't go to "their" part of the country. Yes there are some delightful spots and very good attractions. But the overall package is often dire. And it rains a lot.
