Seven year old neighbour of my grandsons climbed out of a window to try to play with them. After she'd been returned home, older grandson(7) said " I've learned two things about her, one, she's a good climber and two...." You ger grandson(5) " She's a troublemaker"
Many years ago when the Catholic priest used to call round and pay you a visit at home. My mother was sat in the kitchen having her hair done, when the doorbell rang. She could see it was the priest through the obscured glass, so she told my sister to answer the door and say .. "sorry but my mother has gone out shopping".
There was no way she would have let the priest see her with her rollers in.
So off she went to answer the door followed by my 4 year old nephew. When she carried out the white lie and said .."sorry but my mother has gone out shopping" .. my nephew piped up .. "no she's not, she is behind the door in the kitchen" !
Bless me father for I have sinned !

Thanks folks. Good stuff. I remember the priest coming round to our house every week, as they used to do (do they still do that?) wanting everyone to go to church etc. My dad just told him straight - no way! If you want to do it, fine, but don't bother me. But he kept coming back every week. He was only a small figure but well built, for all that. A pocket battleship, my dad used to call him. A bit of a firebrand too. He used to play Hurling on Bowlee in Middleton. He got sent off a couple of times for fighting. Sent off for fighting in a Hurling match? That's what it's all about isn't it? We used to love watching him play, with all his cursing as well. You'd think he'd just arrived from the local building site. He used to roar round town on a Norton 750 in his leathers. This is a priest we're talking about. Fr. Fitzgerald. What a character he was! Sorry folks. Gone a bit off topic there!
