Breadmaker Motor
3 Answers
I have just gutted a Morphy Richards breadmaker and salvaged the internal gubbins. I have no idea how to do it, but I'd like to make a small parts sand tumbler using the motor. Basically, all I need to know is how to wire it up and fit an on/off switch. Can any body coach me on-line? Electrical knowledge on my part? I can wire a plug. I think I have a capacitor, but I'm not sure what one would look like. Can any body help?

Have a glance at this .. it may give you ideas. Don't mess with capacitors unless you know what you are doing. Strangely enough as you view this you will see a 24v transformer used as part of the project. I dispose of 1 or 2 of those every day of the week, all in perfect working order. All the parts required are readily available on eBay.

Sorry I am no electronics expert .. but I am surrounded by designers, developers and test engineers when I am at work. Today capacitors were mentioned and the accidents that others have seen, fairly grim I'm afraid! The one thing everyone agreed on was .. do not touch them if you are not qualified to do so. We have them at work and the warning printed on the side of them states 'Death is imminent'. They hold 500,000 volts, even the smallest ones hold 400v.
Sorry but it is not something I would advise anyone about !
