Always a hard day. Never anything surreal as holding someone’s hand when they die. How these McMillan nurses do this day in day out I do not know. They deserve a medal. She was only 59.happy birthday mum xx

I always find birthdays/anniversaries very hard.

It's not a great time either. It's not like you can pop to the pub and raise a few glasses to her.

Was on my way home after visiting my mother when she died in hospital. Turned round and drove back, so I understand.
