Silicone Glue
I have to re-install a soap/shampoo dispenser in a shower. When it was new it was supplied with silicone glue to attach it to the wall so I need to get some more now, but I don't know the spec. I have seen plenty of silicone glues advertised as suitable for 3D art projects, but am not sure if this is also suitable for vertical weight-bearing use in a shower. Can anyone suggest a suitable product?

I would recommend ‘Gorilla glue’ – I’ve used it in a number of applications and it has a good performance. The problem is that the parts to be glued need to be secured (for at least 2 hours), so unless you can somehow fix the dispenser in place - it won’t work.

If you use silicone adhesive as Hymie says it will need supporting temporarily. That is easy done using duck or gaffa tape. Have used the silicone below for years on end and it has never failed.

Have you thought of fixing it with double sided tape .. this one works a treat. I have fixed no end of 3-5kg. glass boards with it.
Clean the area thoroughly before you do anything. You would stick it onto the back of your dispenser, then cut around and remove the excess. I use a scalpel to trim. Remove the backing tape and place it exactly where you want it on the wall on the wall.
With the tape you are left with a very handy that can be used any time in the future. With silicone you will be left with a whole tube that will go off in time and is of no further use !

I have used this without any problems, it also has the advantage of not clogging up the spout.
