My mate went to see it last night, said it was rubbish.
Im going to see it next Friday. Will make my own mind up! The trailers looked pretty good but will wait and see...
Not as appealing as Bohemian Rhapsody was to me but do like some Elton/Taupin songs so will be going to see it soon.
Apparently there's now a trailer for a Boy George movie as well. Where does it end? An Ed Sheeran biopic? A Susan Boyle movie? The life and times of Sam Bailey?
Friend went with her daughter. She hated it but her daughter loved it. Each to his own.
Don't think they've got as far as a trailer for the Boy George movie, yet, Nailit. Remember seeing a dramatisation on tv some time back of how he began and found it quite interesting. Let's face it, he is one of our most interesting pop culture characters and i think the film, when made, could be worth the watch. Don't think i'd bother with the others you mention though each to his/her own. Surprised no-ones done a Led Zep or Sabbath bi-opic. Plenty of interesting material there, i would have thought :-)
I'm not a huge Elton Fan so I probably won't bother to see it.

I bought Bohemian Rhapsody on DVD for my husband whose birthday it is tomorrow. I hope he likes it.

I hear that Aladdin with Will Smith is absolutely fantastic - anyone seen it?

The Boy George programme was called Worried About The Boy. I quite enjoyed it actually because he has had an interesting life. I`ve seen the trailer for Rocketman - some parts look good and some don`t so will see.
I went with the present Mrs Hughes and a couple of friends, they all loved it, I wasn't so sure.

I didn't find the lead convincing as Elton, his voice is neither deep or powerful enough.

The portrayal of Dick James was dreadful - Dick James was known as a complete gentleman in his dealings with his artists, and his portrayal as a foul-mouthed cockney was utterly inappropriate.

I also found the 'fantasy' sequences jarring, but that's probably because I don't like musicals as a rule - but I think I am in the minority with not liking this.
I'm like Nailit. I don't really listen to other people's opinions when it comes to what to watch and what to read. I've seen films that are given 5 stars in the tv guide turn out to be absolute trash and found some little gems that have only managed 2 stars. I will, no doubt. get around to watching Rocketman and, if it is only half as good as 'BoRap' i will no doubt enjoy it.

Finally got to see the film this afternoon. I didn't think I would like it at first because I don`t like musicals but I thought it was very colourful and flamboyant and had impact.
saw it last night and loved it, found it sad he had a sad childhood, love his songs, always have, brilliant film as is bohemian rhapsody too.
