Rowntrees Tots

Does anyone remember the Rowntrees cartoon advert for their "Tots" brand of kids sweets? I seem to remember there were four types, but I can only remember three!! Jelly Tots, Tiger Tots, Teddy Tots was the fourth Candy Tots?? Can you download the advert anywhere? Thanks

Oh yes I remember because it always made my toddler stop whatever he was doing & run to the tv where he swayed from side to side until it finished.  It was hilarious!  It was something like 'Rowntrees tots, Please yourself, Four to choose from along the shelf'. I think Candy tots is right, but I'm not positive.  If only I knew where to find the ad Rowlfe but I don't!

Close enough I guess!! Still want to find the film or the soundtrack though! I'll let you know if I come across it!!

I always remember the ad being performed by dancers in costumes, complete with stylised character heads, so not an animated cartoon at all. Unless it was re-made.

I dont Know why but I was sure the fourth was Dolly Tots.

I remember this advert vividly! The characters were performed by people in costumes, much like The Banana Splits. There was Jelly Tots, Candy Tots (dolly mixtures, Tiger Tots (licorice allsorts), and Teddy Tots (sugary cubes) to begin with, but Teddy Tots were replaced by Bunny Tots (Tutti Fruttis). The soundtrack to the original version can be found here...


All references to the sweets were removed so it could get airplay (not that I ever heard it!), so Jelly Tots became Jerry Joe, Candy Tots became Candy Doll, Teddy Tots became Teddy Tim, and Tiger Tots became Tiger Tom! Be sure to read the accompanying description, because there's some information about the making of the adverts from one of the performers himself! I wish I could find one of the adverts, or even just a photo, so I could see the characters again - until then, the illustration on the single's cover will have to do.

When Teddy Tots were discontinued, his lyrics were replaced with "Bunny Tots, they're something new", and I'm guessing the Tiger Tots lyric was changed to "for you to chew" so it still rhymed!
I only recently found out that a single was released of the song, which shocked me because I loved the adverts and if I'd known at the time I would have bought it! It was called "Please Yourself" and performed by The Tots, and can be heard here...
