Hi Guys, I have a christening in two weeks time, where I am God mother. I really want to buy something unique and special for my god daughter, thats different from the usual stuff people buy. Does anyone have any ideas? Not too worried about price, will consider most things. Thanks in advance x

Try this website - craftuk.co.uk. They do some lovely wooden gifts that you can have personalised with the child's name and a message. Things like the chairs and jewellery boxes your god daughter would be able to keep for years, might even become family heirlooms.
A Fender Stratocaster ... start 'em early, I say
For my god-daughter, I bought a silver charm bracelet (adult size) with one charm on for the christening. After that, I added to it for her birthday and/or Christmas (depending on availability of money!) right up until she was 18. It`s lasted and it`s something that she can always wear throughout her life.
i got my niece a snowglobe, she loved watching it. disney do some really nice ones.

Personally I always buy nice photo albums for christenings, you can get them as cheap or as special as you want to pay, and I usually write on the card something for you to treasure and for your mam to show your boyfriends when you're older! Basically having three kids who haven't kept any of the silver things bought for them, but still have their old photo albums of birthday parties, school trips etc, I think it is a lifelong keepsake that will never be thrown out. You might find somewhere that would personalise it and put a message on from yourself, that way the gift occasion will also be remembered.

You could do an online classified to celebrate the christening and get a print out to keep for your god daughter??
Good suggestion about the charm bracelet - my daughter was given one at her christening and now she is 13 she is having a great time buying charms for it. In fact finding charms takes up most of our holiday!!

Charms are also something you could buy for her on subsequent birthdays

Thanks for the answers. Ive decided on a photo album, engraved. With a poem and a letter to her inside and a few pic of her parents when they were kids. I will probable also buy her a charm bracelet too. Thanks guys
