What exactly do you think was wrong with it? It could have said black, yellow brown, pink, purple etc etc but because it said "white" then people have taken offence, why?. White lives do matter, all lives do

Hard to disagree with Vulcan.

Yet some of the same people who shout down 'All lives matter' lose their sheet when anyone mentions bringing back capital punishment for some of the country's most heinous criminals.
// All lives matter' lose their sheet when anyone mentions bringing back capital punishment for some of the country's most heinous criminals.//

yeah why on earth do they lose their sheet
when someone says - "all lives matter but not the convict - his life doesnt matter so we will hang him"

that doesnt make any sense at all
I only post these little questions(*) so I can learn from the deep thinkers on AB

(*) nay not questions, posers or tricky points soon to ironed out
All lives do matter. You should be prepared however to forfeit that right when you take the life of someone else.
It isn’t the sentiment itself but the context in which it’s expressed: English football hooligans singing “No surrender to the IRA” is a good example: the idea that one should not surrender to the IRA is a perfectly honourable one, but the words are meaningless when they sung in a foreign Pub by a lot of finger-stabbing, drunken yobbos.
Pretty much the same thing here.
I don't think there was anything wrong with it.
//English football hooligans singing “No surrender to the IRA” is a good example: the idea that one should not surrender to the IRA is a perfectly honourable one//

Nonsense.

Now, if Henry Hooligan (or even you) wanted to discuss Irish Republican history, or how some national resistance groups are terrorists while others are freedom fighters, I’d be all for it.
If the statement "White Lives Matter" is deemed racist then the statement "Black Lives Matter" must also be racist. Time for politicians and sportsmen to get off the BLM bandwagon
Careful, fiveleaves. Logic doesn't go down too well around here.
Context is everything. Add that to the logic, fiveleaves, and you might see what the difference is between the two statements.
// If the statement "White Lives Matter" is deemed racist then the statement "Black Lives Matter"//

WLM is not unllawful and so is not racist - neither is BLM
which we werent that worried about anyway

ergo? ergo quid ?
OK so it is racist and not racist at the same time
yeah righto - this is AB all right
Jim, //Context is everything.//

There is no 'context' - unless you choose to invent one.
There isn't a lot of context involved in a placard that says "Black lives matter".
Animal lives matter more than the virus of humanity.

Nonsense.

What: you think surrendering to the IRA (or indeed bunch of gangsters) is a good idea?
Although that really wasn’t my point.
I’ve been talking about our history for years usually with fellow Irish who understand it and it wasn’t a cue for a rerun.
Great comment at 19:32 david.
