Now running away. My good ness some of the ex Policemen on here must wonder what is happening.
IMHO it's time to bring the Army in whilst the Met is cleared of the liberal do-gooders and then rebuilt by a copper with proper boots on the ground experience (of any race or religion whoever is best for the job).
And at the same time its time to drain the judicial swamp. Start banging these rioters up. If anyone thinks this is about race they are sadly mistaken these are just louts.

I blame the lenient sentencing for much crime including rioting.

Longer sentences, and prisons consisting of nothing more than a barbed wire compound out in the wilds, no phones,no mail, no visits, sloppy food should be the conditions, and time added on for BSD behaviour rather than time off for obeying the rules.

You don't get time off for obeying the rules. You get time off. All prisoners serving determinate sentences are automatically and unconditionally released at the halfway point in their sentence. Judges do have the power to order that two thirds of the sentence is served before release for some of the most serious offenders but it is rarely used. In October 2019 the government announced that the two-thirds arrangement would be extended. But it hasn't.
