This appears to be an exercise in the BLM brigade and their supporters climbing up their own bottoms. Presumably applicants will be required to indicate ethnicity when applying for work - and white people need not apply. Surely a retrograde step in the quest for equality? So much for an end to racial profiling and all that goes with it.

I’ve also known of black Carmens, black Toscas, black Madame Butterflys, and among other anomalies, a Russian King of Siam and an Egyptian Russian. It’s called acting.

// //And what about roles written as white characters but played by black actors, Jim? Should that no longer happen either?//
I can't actually think of any characters that fit that description. //
Many versions of Shakespeare plays have black actors playing white roles.
Henry 1V had a black woman playing his wife.
I read recently that "From June 14 through June 20, black publishers and authors are urging readers to buy books by black authors under the social media hashtag #BlackoutBestsellerList. The goal is for black authors to take over the bestseller lists and show off their industry clout" - can someone explain to me how you would know what colour the author was from just reading a book? Have you ever questioned it? Would you either buy/not buy a book knowing the ethnicity of the author?

taken from the programme of that performance at the RSC. There are photographs. I have a box full of programmes and if further proof be needed I can trawl through them and find other black actors in white roles.

I wouldnt worry too much. Usually the left start on themselves all trying to out virtue signal the other. Once they have devoured themselves then the majority can return to normal.
I was always under the impression acting was well acting. So how colour of skin comes into it for voice overs I really dont know. Still I hope they extend it a bit - there's nothing worse than an American trying to put on a cockney accent.

The Simpsons only employs six main voice actors: Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright, Yeardley Smith, Hank Azaria and Harry Shearer. In the past those six have voiced almost every character on the show, no matter the character's age, sex, religion or ethnic origin. The main issue with Apu is the cliché of the character himself. Perhaps if an actual Indian had been voicing him then some of the jokes wouldn't have made the final cut:
