I was coerced into buying a Samsung smartphone at the EE Shop last year against my better judgement. I'm in my 80s and cannot cope with new technology. When I returned to the shop after a few days later for some advice on how to use certain features, I was told to buy a manual at W H Smith and look through that! I did but couldn't understand the jargon.

Now my Memory app has suddenly disappeared so that I can't read texts. I am at a loss to know what to do. Can anybody please help? If you can, you will have a reply in very basic terms. As I said, I cannot understand jargon.

Thanks, I'll have a look.
they should have explained the features that you were concerned about. it was poor salesmanship on their part no to have helped you out. I would go back to the store and ask to see the Manager.
Going by the previous customer service, I doubt the Manager will be available.

When you say .. 'memory app' .. what does this app do ?
As a rule the apps you use most often are usually stored on the home page and any that can't be stored there because of lack of space are usually on the next page.
On the home page try swiping to the left and have a look on the next page to see if your memory app has been moved there by mistake.
If it has, then it is just a case of pressing and holding the app and sliding it back onto your home page.

Thank you. The phone is charging at the moment but I will have a look when it is ready to use again.
Do you mean your Messages app? If so do what alavahalf suggests, it's most probably the solution to your problem, but look for Messages not Memory. Good luck.
did you really need a "smart mobile" ? maybe a non smart would have been better if you just need it to keep in contact with folk

It was a huge mistake. I had an old fashioned Nokia before that and it was much better for my needs. Now I'm locked into a contract until next year. I won't renew it.
Have you managed to solve the problem?
Question Author
Not yet - I'm still trying.

Yes, done it! Thank you all for your help and suggestions.
How did you solve the problem ?
