There's lots of information going around right now about coronavirus (COVID-19), and not all of it is accurate - with some of it not having any truth to it at all.

Pixie, they are not learning when people give false information, just as even moderators on this site have done. This kind of information most certainly should be removed as soon as possible, especially in the current climate we find ourselves in.

Pixie if it was law, gardening and so on I would agree. I am not a proponent of censorship but this is IMPORTANT. Its too important to use as a learning opportunity.

Khandro, not the ed but I don't see any incorrect factual information in the thread you mention? Have you reported a problem?

Fair enough, woof. I didn't mean so much for entertainment or interest, but more to get rid of any myths and legends people might believe. But maybe it would be misleading.
The care homes are advising staff members, amongst other things... to drink plenty of hot drinks. So, that may not have been a bad call.

someone has drunk fish bowl cleaner in the belief that it protects against covid - it doesnt
the cleaner contained chloroquine and so he just took "a little" and managed to poison himself - a little was a lot

Chloroquine inhibits corona replication in a cell model - by interfering with viral thingey ( surprisingly nothing to do with the anit malarial action )
they tried it in man and showed there was no effect - the pts didnt get better any quicker = it didnt work

used an a good example that Lab work cant be just taken on to the Wards without the bits in between

speaking as one who fell to Covid..I can only say..please follow guidelines..it CAN happen to you..it is a nasty nasty infection and I feel lucky to have come through the other side
