A few beyond me this week:

2d "Sort of mole on Frenchman" (6) _ I _ R _ E (perhaps PIERRE but why?)
6d "Come back to mind about vicious dog" (5) R _ C _ R (perhaps RECUR but the clue meaning is REOCCUR rather than happen again)
18a "One cracking very good female singer" (4) P _ A _ (perhaps PIAF but why?)
26a "Active ladies chat in Mumbai perhaps" (4) A _ O _ (no idea!)

Any help please.

Thanks all. I must remember to say "it recurs to me" rather then "it occurs to me again"; that pi is short for pious; that a mole can be a breakwater; and that chaat is an Indian dish which can apparently lose an a!
